I guess it’s worth pointing out that I started off as a bit of a conspiracy nut to say the least. I watched the first zeitgeist movie when I was around 12 years old and I was astonished by the answers that it gave to my young and impressionable mind. From then on came many years of questing that which I was told and all too often the beliefs of someone else were imprinted onto my mind as my own. From all the research I have undertaken since then, I have learned to take absolutely everything I hear or read with a pinch of salt, even if back then I took the words of Peter Joseph as gospel.

I have since been reminded on numerous occasions that although questions may seem to be answered in full, there is pretty much always a dark little secret or motive behind the so called truth. Even if that dark little motive is simply an ego boost for the writer. It is because of this that you must realise the importance of formulating your own opinion given your own research, and that that which is your own opinion holds no more, or less, merit than the formulated opinion of another.

All knowledge, be it true or false, is valuable. With time you find out what is important to you, what fits with you. Even if you’ve spent all of your life believing in something you thought to be the truth and something comes along to blow that belief out of the water, it’s better to know what not to know, then to disregard potential knowledge because it conflicts with your own beliefs.

This may not be news to you, but the key to staying ahead of the game is to question not only the beliefs or the information given to you by others, but to question your own beliefs, your own thought processes. Because by all rights, how can you question the mind of another when you yourself know not your own? More importantly, what gives anyone the right to say that what they believe to be true is the only truth?

I have my own views on how I think society should be run, and believe me money would be the first thing to go if I could change it. But at the end of the day, although my view of a perfect society is just, morale and co-operative, the person down the street may see a society under surveillance and state “protection” as the most peaceful society. Even if my society would see surveillance as a breach of our rights to privacy and the constant presence of a police or military force as merely a show of force from those in charge.

The goal of TerraSalvus is to give you a helping hand in the awakening process, because let’s face it, society is asleep to the wrong doing hidden in plain site by those who would have themselves our rulers. There are, however, a growing number of people who believe that to question the status quo, the very systems that are the bedrock for modern society, is to betray their government or country, or is to be placed in that ever-so-negative pocket of society labelled as conspiracy theorists, those “cooky people that sit inside all day, creating their own world of wrong and unnecessarily negative assumptions.”

The mainstream media among various other outlets of propaganda, breed conspiracy police, people who disregard anything that could be considered alternative to the likes of Newscorp or Time Warner, who’s sole purpose is to keep the eyes of others shut along whit their own, and for what? Blissful ignorance, that’s what. Because why should people be questioning their society, when it’s the freest and most civilised society in the world? This society that spends billions on bombs and prisons whilst billions of human beings across the globe suffer in poverty. Though suffering is not exclusive to those in poverty. People of all classes, including minorities within the ruling classes, suffer on a day by day basis because of the endless pressures of a putrid and individualistic consumer society.

It is not our goal to tell you what the truth is. All views and news within this organisation are for the purpose of your own consideration and are fully open to debate. This is as much our own journey towards what could be the truth as it is yours, and we welcome your perspective. It is therefore our wish to provide you with an open-minded source of information for you to formulate your own opinion. We implore you to comment on our articles and to let your voice be heard….read.

As regards the use of copyrighted material within the European Union. The European Directive 2001/29/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 May 2001 on the harmonisation of certain aspects of copyright and related rights in the information society provides in its art. 5 an exhaustive list of exemptions that can be implemented by the Member States.

Amongst that list, the exemption(s) invoked must cover the reproduction and communication to the public (since the publication on the Internet implies those two acts). Generally, exemptions will be based on the purpose of the intended use. For instance, the Directive provides for an exemption to the exclusive right of reproduction and communication to the public when it is made for the sole purpose of illustration for teaching or scientific research, as long as the source, including the author’s name, is indicated, unless this turns out to be impossible and to the extent justified by the non-commercial purpose to be achieved.

Another exemption is “reproduction by the press, communication to the public or making available of published articles on current economic, political or religious topics or of broadcast works or other subject-matter of the same character, in cases where such use is not expressly reserved, and as long as the source, including the author’s name, is indicated, or use of works or other subject-matter in connection with the reporting of current events, to the extent justified by the informatory purpose and as long as the source, including the author’s name, is indicated, unless this turns out to be impossible”.

All the exceptions must comply with the three step test which imply that exemptions must only apply in certain special cases (1) which do not conflict with a normal exploitation of the work or other subject-matter (2) and do not unreasonably prejudice the legitimate interests of the rightholder (3).
